Day 324

June 30th

Alexander is curious about Emma's music stand. Today I lay it on the floor so he wouldn't pull it down on himself, and so he could play with it. He spent a good 5 minutes wrestling with it.

It got caught in the wheels of the doll pram, which irritated him.


He lifted it up and down like a barbell, I think he was trying to go under it.


He managed to rotate it 180 degrees but still ended up on the side he didn't want to be on (the side with Emma's notebook). Finally, he crawled/dragged himself over it, looking annoyed when it was poking him.





Also played with the baby doll that he used to be smaller than.

Day 323

June 29th

When Alexander woke up from his nap, he discovered that Mommy had been playing with his toys.


He started playing with them too.

Day 322

June 28th

Alexander likes to make the animals pop up, especially the cat.
It is very warm, no need for clothes these days.


Alexander is very happy to see Mommy,


but is reminded that he is tired,


and that he wants to go to bed, though he will try to stay awake!

Day 321

June 27th

The past two times Alexander bathed in the big bathtub he was very sad and just wanted out of there. Therefore, we were happy to see him smiling in his little tub. At first he drew up his legs and was starting to cry but after a few seconds he was fine.

Having fun playing with Uncle Peter and a big pot, which was fun to look into and roll around on the floor.

June 23rd

Alexander watching Isaac watch the USA-Algeria game (1-0).
After many good tries, USA finally scored in the 90th minute, YAY!



At almost 10 pm a parade of six hot air balloons flew by our apartment.



Cannot see in the picture above, but there was a sunset.
It was still light outside :-)

Day 316

June 22nd

Watching Isaac and Emma.


Finding a nice little rock.


Wondering if I am noticing that he is eating it.
When I fished it out he bit my finger.


Tried the "get the animal" trick again.
His eyes lit up with determination and he easily made his way over to the horse.
Last time he kept stepping on his own feet while trying to move sideways.
Today he shuffled over elegantly.




Alexander stood for a few seconds with Emma nearby.

Day 315

June 21st

Busy, busy, busy, most of the day.
Opening and closing a drawer,


Tried several times to put this toy away.
It worked better when the drawer was open.


Alexander has just started to bend his knees in order to reach things lower down.
He stood for a few seconds today without holding onto anything/anyone.

June 20th

Mmm, frozen raspberries, what a treat.


Alexander, dressed up for a party, which he partially slept through.

Alexander "walks" along both couches and has fun with Emma


and with Mommy.

June 18th

Another new food, mung beans! He loved them.


We bought a gate to keep Alexander away from the front entrance and the bathroom.
Still need to attach it to the wall.


Getting good walking practice.

Day 311

June 17th

Alexander had a well baby check up. He weighs just under 11 kg and is 74 cm.

Here he is showing how he can get around, even with his hands full:


He is constantly trying to find things to eat on the floor.
Really, we do feed him!

Bedtime. Alexander is tired and Emma wants to hold him like a she did when he was newborn and she notes that he isn't as small or as still as he used to be!
