Day 477

November 30th

Jumped up and down on Isaac while they ate crackers.

I bought a pomegranate, and I can never tell from the outside if it will be good or not; this was one of the best we've had!

Alexander has a new favorite fruit.

Day 476

November 29th

Alexander was very "mammig" (wanting Mommy) when I came home from work. He was enjoying hanging out with Isaac while I sat on the bed, but didn't like it when I left the room for 3 seconds to get the camera.

Day 475

November 28th

1st Advent already!

We went to Emma's violin concert this afternoon, while Farmor and Farfar took Alexander for a walk in the snow, in Stockholm.

I've been feeling challenged to take OK pictures lately, because it is often dark and there are many pictures with red eye and many pictures are out of focus. The best picture today, Alexander in his bathrobe.

Day 474

November 27th

It is getting to be a game to see what we will find in the silverware drawer.

We had a late Thanksgiving dinner, Alexander mostly ate bread.

Day 473

November 26th

It snowed! Alexander wanted to go out (banging on the door, bringing me his shoes), so we went to the grocery store and then to a park. Alexander didn't seem to enjoy the snow. I sat behind him on the elephant and then he was OK, but not thrilled.

The swing was better and he was mildly entertained by a snowplough, but was never very happy and then he cried when we went in because we had been out such a short time.

In the evening, sitting and standing, sitting and standing, about 20 times, what good exercise! Sitting in a box of Duplo.

Day 472

November 25th

Happy Thanksgiving! Not a holiday here, but we had a nice day anyway :-)
I went to a meeting at work and Alexander hung out with Farmor and Farfar. I joined them for lunch and Alexander discovered, happily, that they also have kitchen drawers and cupboards containing pots and pans. He started filling them with toys, of course!

Day 471

November 24th

Alexander climbs up and down the sofa many times, looks out the window, climbs down in new faster ways, rolls around, and lounges.

Day 470

November 23rd

Another fantastic Tuesday, went to the playgroup in the morning, came home and had lunch and took a nap. Played with Emma when she came home, and Isaac when he came home, and had a LONG bath. Alexander is wearing a robe with a little ghost on it, "Laban" from Swedish children's literature. "Laban" is a nice ghost, who lives in a castle and is afraid of the dark.

Before going to bed it was time to put some socks away in the silverware drawer.

Day 469

November 22nd

At the park with Lasse, swinging. Alexander is very good at removing his mittens, even if we put them on underneath his snowsuit.

Alexander enjoys doing acrobatics on his rocking moose. He has gotten back on a late schedule the past few days and was up until 10:30 pm, which was fortunate since I worked late and didn't come home until 7pm.

Day 468

November 21st

Lasse cut Alexander's bangs today, and both father and son were pretty patient!

Mommy baked saffron rolls:

Bedtime, showing Isaac some pots and pans. When he is going to bed he goes around and says goodnight to Isaac, Emma, and Lasse, giving them hugs and kisses, (or hitting them in the face with Duplo sometimes), then he goes and points to where we keep his books. He has started to pick out which books he wants to look at.

Day 467

November 20th

We had dinner guests and Alexander, who had a late nap, was in a good mood.

Friday, November 19, 2010

Day 466

November 19th

Yesterday, Alexander got excited when he saw a bag of black beans sitting on the table because he loves helping me sort through beans or lentils and putting them to soak! He pointed at the bag, saying, "da"! and he wasn't happy when I put them away. He was glad when they reappeared this morning.

He sits on this bench when I put on his socks and shoes.

A picture taken to capture his baby roundness.

Day 465

November 18th

Still has a cold; a bit cranky and

having a "Mommy, pick me up" moment.

Feeling much better after his nap.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Day 464

November 17th

Alexander is interested in socks and shoes. He has a box of socks that he enjoys looking through, and will pick out socks for me to put on. Sometimes he wants me to put his shoes on too.

He has learned how to climb off our bed, which is nice, because we used to have to RUN into the room when we heard that he was awake, worried about him crawling off head first.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Day 463

November 16th

Alexander still has a cough and runny nose so we only made a short visit to the park. He enjoyed swinging but was too tired to do anything else.

When we came home it was time to empty the dishwasher (I LOVE that machine). Alexander took care of the small spoons,

putting them away one at a time. We have a safety latch on this drawer, so he can only open it a little bit, but it is enough to put the spoons in.

Putting the empty basket back.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Day 462

November 15th

Discovering the joy of crayons.

Playing with water in the kitchen sink after dinner.

Another "sitting in a Duplo house" picture.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Day 461

November 14th

Alexander had a fever during the night and Lasse and I were very tired all day.

Swedes celebrate Father's day today; the kids made Lasse breakfast in bed and we gave him some treats and a shirt.

Ribbons are fun. Fever is gone.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Day 460

November 13th

Alexander had a cold. Farmor and Farfar came to visit. When I said that they were coming Alexander (who was in the living room) toddled off to the front door and began talking excitedly and banging on the door.

Having fun.

Day 459

November 12th

Teething? He was very cranky.

Alexander "asked" to go out. He pointed at and banged on the door and on his stroller. He also pulled on his snowsuit, and when I got it down he followed me around with it. We did go out, to Emma's school where her class was having a "Glitter disco".

Dressed up for the party:
