Day 720

July 31st

In the morning I asked Alexander if he wanted some blueberries. He didn't need to be asked twice; he put on his boots, tromped down the stairs, and started picking.

Day 719

July 30th

Playing in the sand at the beach.

Day 718

July 29th

Got up in the morning, wandered out to the veranda, looked out and said, "Tree! Big tree! Birdie! There's a birdie!" But the first thing he said when he woke up was his cousin's names, because I had told him the night before that they would be coming today.

Day 716

July 27th

Happy Birthday cousin Alva! We went to her birthday party in the evening.

Alexander using a toy cash register as a telephone; playing with his grandparents.

Day 715

July 26th

We went to Stockholm's amusement park with Alexander's cousins/aunt/uncle. Took pictures, but many came out blurry. Alexander especially enjoyed the carousel and rode on several different animals.

Pictured here on a car.

There were a lot of people at the park today. Here we are waiting in line for the little ferris wheel. Almost there. Alexander was very patient.

Eating ice cream with Uncle Peter.

Had a nice nap.

Day 714

July 25th

I don't remember why, but I started talking about the recorder and Alexander ran into Isaac's room and wanted to play.

A friend with older children dropped off a garage for Alexander! Plenty of space for his cars, three levels, and two ramps = fun.

Day 713

July 24th

It was very windy today!

Lasse and Isaac flew a kite (Birdie! exclaimed Alexander).

Alexander preferred hanging out with Mommy, running back and forth on this bench and performing balancing stunts.

Day 712

July 23rd

As soon as we ask Alexander if he wants to go out he is at the door putting his shoes on. He then stands patiently and waits for us; sometimes he holds up our shoes, other times he gives us a "what is taking you so long" look. We went out three times today, so he was very happy.

Day 711

Day 710

Emma took this picture of Alexander watching birds.

Bedtime energy spurt; Alexander loves to balance and climb on our stomachs.

Day 709

July 20th

I hardly saw Alexander today! He was sleeping when I left for work, and exhausted when I came home. We decided not to subject him to a bath; he collapsed and fell asleep sticky.

Day 708

July 19th

We walked to Akalla and played minigolf again.
Alexander making the game extra challenging for his cousin Alva.

Tried to take a picture of five children looking at the camera at the same time with eyes open.

Day 707

July 18th

Alexander woke up early with Mommy and went and spent the morning with his Grandparents while Mommmy went to work (Lasse is out of town). He had a great time and only slept 25 minutes, despite having gotten up at 4:45 am!

In the afternoon, trying passion fruit for the first time. It was sour and yummy. Alexander received a bunch of hand me downs from a friend, including this shirt with a car on it; he was very pleased and kept looking down at the car and patting his tummy happily.

Day 706

July 17th

Emma came home (she has been out at the country house this weekend) and she promptly dressed Alexander up. He sat on the changing table and examined various nail trimming devices.

Day 705

July 16th

Morning at the park.

Day 704

July 15th

Going out on adventure. He does NOT want to sit in his stroller. Alexander goes into the elevator and stands with his back against the wall and points for us to come in too!

We went and checked out a park in Solna, three subway stops away. When I told Alexander that we were going on the subway he spun in circles and chanted, "bana! bana! bana!" Tunnelbana = subway.

Isaac pushed Alexander for a long time. When Isaac got tired, I pushed Alexander, but he showed his preference saying, "No, ISAAC"!

On the way home we stopped at the mall in Kista to buy some groceries. The ceiling has mirrors and you have to watch out for children walking like this. Shortly after this was taken Alexander bumped into another mirror gazer.

Day 703

July 14th

We were in the grocery store and I said, "We need to get some milk". Alexander was out of his stroller and I followed him; he found his way to the dairy section and went right over to "our" milk (ecological semi skim) and tried to open the glass doors. I was impressed with him.

Cars. Buses. Airplanes. Tractors. Trains. Subways. Birds. Balls.
All that moves and flies. From morning to night Alexander is talking about such things, and driving them around.

Day 702

July 13th

Alexander thinks that teenage girls are wonderful :-) Hanna also paints toenails!

Out of focus dancing for joy picture.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Day 701

July 12th

Playing with blocks.

Trying to stick his head out the window, which only opens a few inches thanks to the child safety equipment!

Alexander likes to sit sideways when he eats. He also likes to pick out his own socks.

Cousin Hanna came to spend the night, which made Alexander very happy; he wanted to be with her and sit on her lap.

Day 700

July 11th

We played with a puzzle. Alexander took out this bicycle piece and drove it around on the rug. He was tired, lay on his stomach and became fascinated with a small sticker that had stuck to the rug.
