Day 963

I stayed home with Alexander today, he was in much better health than I was. He wanted to go out in the morning. He put on his rain pants by himself as well as his boots (I tied them!). It took him about 5 minutes and he was very patient, pulling each pant leg up little by little. I really didn't want to go out - it was raining and cold - but how could I say no after such effort on his part? Once we were out, he wasn't very impressed by the weather and we came in after about 10 minutes.

It took a while to get out, because we waited for Emma, who wanted company on her way to school (not the whole way, just a bit) - so we took off boots and jacket and had a banana snack while waiting.

Day 962

Lasse stayed home with Alexander in the morning and I stayed home with him in the afternoon. He took a nap, but after that was bouncing up and down, running, hopping on the bed, etc. Doesn't seem too sick anyhow :-)

Day 961

Alexander wasn't feeling well at daycare, a lot of children have strep throat nowadays. I picked him up early and he was lying in his stroller watching the other children play outside. He had a fever and was relieved to go home, where he eventually perked up. He has not wanted to take off this Little My shirt that Emma found for him.

Sunday Alexander was running to the window and checking on the status of the firetrucks, and running back and parking his toy trucks accordingly.

Later, we had a waffle brunch with Aunt, Uncle and cousins, and Alexander rode Peter like a horse.

Emma and I went to a children's bazaar and we found a few things for Alexander too, including a Moomin puzzle.

Day 956

Alexander walked/ran most of the way to daycare. It was warm enough that he had regular shoes, instead of winter boots, and he was very fast!

Saturday March 17th. Happy St. Patrick's Day! I discovered that Alexander doesn't have much green in his wardrobe, but these pajamas had a bit of green. I usually buy the children something green and dye the milk green but this year I forgot about the milk - as the picture shows, we still have a Christmas table cover. Hoping to fix that before Easter, but the days are going by fast, so we'll see.

First Alexander got soap in his eyes, but then he had fun playing with the washcloth that wiped the soap out of his eyes.

Day 943

I took Alexander out in the morning. We spent a little time climbing, sliding, and swinging, and a lot of time hacking up ice patches and dumping chunks of ice in a puddle. Alexander kept looking at me and laughing and saying, "det är roligt" ("this is FUN"). Another highlight: finding some stairs and climbing down them. I appreciate how easy it is to make Alexander happy.

Day 942

Isaac and Emma and Lasse left at 4:45 a.m. to go on a school ski trip for the day. Alexander thought it was a bit odd that they were nowhere to be seen when he woke up, but he didn't mind too much, and got busy doing a puzzle. His grandparents picked him up from daycare in the afternoon which added fun to his day.

Day 941

Alexander pushed his stroller most of the way home. It took a long time. Stopped many times to drive on ice and look at birds, children, dogs, etc.

Alexander was saying, "I'm tired" and "I want to go to sleep" although it was early. Once in pajamas he got a second wind and wanted to build a Duplo house, in bed.

The big excitement of the day: Isaac and Emma returned from a week in the mountains with their Grandparents! Alexander was happy to see them. Otherwise, the day was filled with play - pictured here, Hello Kitty in the police car, Playmobil people having a snack, and cuddling with baby doll (yet to be named).

Day 936

Saturday morning. Alexander woke up in a great mood and happily told us, "Hello, you there! Get up, get up! It's time to get up".

It has been very "warm", pushing 10 degrees Celsius = 50 degrees Fahrenheit! Alexander frequently wanders in the woods pictured behind him, with his daycare friends.

When we came home Alexander wanted to be in the laundry basket.
