Day 1449
Sunday, July 28th
Our annual visit to Gröna Lund was a big success. We came early, taking the tram (very exciting) and left late, taking the boat (also exciting). Alexander and I stayed in the younger area in the morning and then met up with Lasse, Isaac, and Emma for a picnic lunch. Emma went on some crazy high up in the air swing ride.

Saturday, July 27th
Alexander came home from the country and went to his cousin Alva's b-day party where he enjoyed playing in the playhouse with Alva's other cousin, played in the water, and jumping on the trampoline.

Alexander out in the country. Our house with scaffolding. Emma with weeks of entertainment.

Thursday, July 25th
Lasse, Alexander, and Farfar went to the country house. Alexander with a peg toy. I took Emma to a movie and we were the only ones in the theater at first (later a total of six people). I also took Isaac to get his photo taken for his new US passport which we are renewing next week.

Lasse returned from Berlin with chocolate and an airplane. Exciting outing of the day: buying groceries and wrapping paper.

Monday, July 22nd
Alexander and I rode two buses out to the country house where I spent a few hours and then left Alexander and took Emma home. It was the second night Alexander has been away from me and the first time he has been without either Lasse or me! He was very excited about spending the night with his grandparents and it went very well.

Sunday, July 21st
Emma is spending two nights with her grandparents, Lasse is in Berlin, and Isaac is out in the Archipelago. Alexander and I played a lot today. He is a very active child! It was difficult taking a picture that wasn't blurry because he is always moving. We played hide and go seek, I hid his elephant and he found it for over an hour, we also did some puzzles (but even this was active - he loaded all 100 pieces into a tractor one at a time and delivered them to the puzzle location). We also built a lego helicopter and did a lot of pretend play (he likes to be Mommy and go to the grocery store).

Wednesday July 17th, another picnic in another park, this time with Tina, Hanna and Alva. Isaac is working at a 4H farm so he was not there. Such a nice park with benches for tired people to rest on as well as a huge variety of things to do, including making mud-pies and waving a sword.

Tuesday
We had a picnic at a park in town and then met up with Lasse who was at work this morning (even though he is on vacation) and had ice cream at one of Stockholm's best (in our opinion) ice cream shops. We rode the bus to Fridhemsplan instead of taking the subway and Alexander was fascinated by all the sights.

Monday
We spent the day at the zoo, where Emma made a couple of goats (first a mother goat and then a kid) very happy by giving them each a long back massage. They really seemed to enjoy it. We had a great picnic lunch which we put together at a grocery store last night. Alexander was very fast looking at the animals and Emma was very slow, so we split up after lunch. The zoo also had some rides, which Alexander loved, including spinning tea cups.

Visiting a campsite that had animals, except that the animals were somewhere else (it looked like a nice place for them though). We did see two chickens.

Mini road trip! We drove to Dala Floda to visit Emma at her violin camp (we are picking her up tomorrow). Lunch at a rest stop. View from the window.

Friday
We took Alexander to the doctor to ask about a deep breathing tic that he has developed, and got the expected "children have tics, don't worry, wait six months" answer that we expected. Then we went to a park. Father and son(s) pictures.

Day 1432
Alexander took a four hour nap at the summer house in the middle of the day. He wasn't sick, but exhausted. He was tired when we came home too and slept, although not in his own bed :-)
