Alexander spent Wednesday at his grandparents. They told me he had been playing with the dollhouse and in the dollhouse there was a toy potted plant which Alexander did not think belonged there; he moved it to a windowsill. After they told me this story, I noticed this lego flower on the windowsill at home.
A mixed evening with both happy times
and tears. Alexander seemed quite tired and went to bed early.
Alexander asking to play with Lego. He says, "come Mommy" and when I follow him into Isaac's room he sits on the rug and points at the box under the bed.
Alexander has started speaking Swedish to Lasse and English to me, for example when we were coming home the other day he turned to Lasse and said "baby hem" and then turned to me and said "baby home". He often says nouns in both languages and he likes to refer to Lasse as: "pappa daddy Lasse".
Alexander playing with Lasse. Friday evening and FULL of energy. The last couple of weekends Alexander has sometimes skipped his nap, he will not be needing them much longer! We try to wake Alexander up before 6:30 am because they nap at 12:00 at daycare (they eat lunch at 11:30) and also because he is usually in a great mood in the mornings and we have a lot of fun together before he goes to daycare. He still needs to nap at daycare of course, since it is intense with all the other little ones, and because they play outside every day before lunch(with the motto there is no bad weather, only bad clothes).
Alexander loves running up and down the hallway, very fast, but
he will sit still patiently to have his nails done. Alexander wants to pick out his own clothes, and has discovered that some shirts have a car on them, they are the first choice. Emma and I love to go to children's used clothing sales, and we found this shirt at a recent one.
I tried to capture the acrobatics involved in Alexander's play; twisting, turning, and stretching, while pushing the train cars around the track. We have Isaac's old electric train too, but we are waiting to give it to Alexander because when Isaac got his he completely stopped playing with the train in the way shown below and was very happy to just stand and watch the train move around magically.
Standing in a box is also fun. It was Saturday and we didn't do much. We were all rather tired after a normal uneventful week.
Alexander spent another happy day with his Grandparents. Back at home he explored his face with his finger, something he has been doing for the past week or so.
He also found these two flowers on the floor and wanted me to put them back on the plant.
Not a great picture of the moon, but it conveys the moment. We've been watching the moon every night (from our bedroom) and every morning (from the kitchen). Tonight the full moon was disappearing/reappearing from behind the clouds.
Another picture on the couch with Emma. The firetrucks are parked in a usual place. Often Alexander asks me to come sit on the couch with him. He hands me a firetruck and wants me to park it - he parks the other one. We chat about the world outside and it is very nice.
