Day 1865

Tuesday, September 16th
More fun with Play dough.

Day 1864

Monday, September 15th
We've been encouraging Alexander to do this for months and tonight he did! Good for those days when he has had been playing with sand and has it stuck in his hair and scalp.

Day 1863

Sunday, September 14th
We went to vote and Alexander took a picture to prove it. Later Alexander and I had some fun with squares and peas.

Day 1862

Saturday, September 13th
Alexander had a Birthday party, one month after his birthday, with children from daycare. It was a great success but we didn't take pictures that we can put on the internet. We had it an indoor activity center and at least one parent per child was also there and it was quite nice. We drank coffee and tried to talk despite the high level of noise. The children played happily for an hour and got very sweaty. Then we went to a room which had disco lights and some rock and roll icons such as Michael Jackson where the kids ate Swedish pancakes and a juice drink and Alexander opened presents. Then they had ice cream which only one child was really interested in eating. One boy, who is particularly fond of Michael Jackson, crawled up onto the statue and gave it a five minute hug. We had the room for 40 minutes and then it was time to play again, which the children did for another hour or two. Alexander was extra excited about one present, a play dough ice-cream store toy.

Day 1861

Friday, September 12th
We watched people working way up high - so small they are hard to see.

Day 1860

Thursday, September 11th
No picture of Alexander, but a picture from a walk in Kista.

Day 1859

Wednesday, September 10th
Alexander has a thing at daycare called "the five year old club" on Wednesdays. The daycare is divided into 5 sections, 2 sections with children under three and 3 sections for children 3-5 years old. The sections don't usually mix but for the five year old club all the children who are born in 2009 and who will therefore be going to school next year meet once a week - this gives them a chance to play with a larger number of children in their own age group and to play with new children. Anyway, Alexander got to bring home a bunny to spend the week with us - they will take turns passing it around all year. Emma was very happy that we were first home so she didn't have to worry about what germs from other five year olds were on the bunny.

Day 1858

Tuesday, September 9th
Alexander loves to bake for pretend and get us to eat his food. Here he had brought Emma a few things, informing her that they are vegan which of course made her happy. Emma wants Alexander to be vegan too (she wants everyone to be vegan) which is another story.

Day 1857

Monday, September 8th
Borrowing pictures from tomorrow. Breakfast with stuffed animals. Showing me how he has learned to climb up the ladder that he used to need help with. Playing with and swing on a swing.

Talking about being 5 years old.

Day 1850

Monday, September 1st
No picture of Alexander, but a picture of a Stockholm scene, people out with their dogs, some kind of class. I cropped the picture to cut out the excess sidewalk, but the unedited version shows up here. Mysterious.

Day 1849

Sunday, August 31st
No picture of Alexander and I don't remember what we did more than the usual weekend cleaning, food shopping, and laundry. Here is a picture of the growing building next to the mall.

Still feeling poorly but no fever today.
