Day 1087

Isaac and I took Madeleine and Maya to the airport and Lasse took Alexander to the country house for the day, where he had a great time.

Day 1086

Madeleine and Maya's last day :-( South Island is so large that we spent another day exploring it. Lasse, Isaac, and Alexander joined us in the afternoon for another park activity before we had dinner at a hole in the wall great crepe restaurant.

Day 1085

We all ventured out to wander on the South Island, a hip part of Stockholm with great people watching, and also several fantastic ice cream places, including "Ahs". Stopped off in a little park first and ate a picnic lunch.

Day 1084

Saturday Lasse and Isaac were at a Starcraft event and Emma wanted to stay home, so Alexander had a nice time with Aunt Madeleine, cousin Maya, and Mommy. First we had a treat at a bakery in town; Alexander didn't want ice cream or a sweet roll, he wanted bread and butter and ate two big pieces. Here he is playing with the curtain while waiting for the bathroom. Then while Madeleine went to a museum, we went to the park in Vasastan and went on the swings, climbed some strange hills they have, and spent a lot of time "driving" this truck.

Day 1083

We went to Djurgården in the morning and to Alva's birthday party in the afternoon/evening. On the way home we took the scenic route to Fridhemsplan by bus instead of bus/subway. Alva with candy tree. Three generations. Bus ride home.

We took a boat out to the archipelago where we had a picnic lunch by the sea and played in the sand. The boat was very crowded because it was the first really warm day in a long time and everyone had the same idea. Playing on the beach and burying daddy's feet in the sand.

Day 1080

After yesterday's long adventures we had a "down" day.

Day 1079

We had our annual trip to Stockholm's amusement park "Gröna Lund" and Alexander was thrilled. He rode the old cars at least 20 times, the Tuff-tuff train about 20 times as well. The spinning tea cups were great, but made him a bit queasy. The flying elephants were also a hit. While he napped we had cotton candy :-O

Day 1078

We are having all kinds of fun with our visitors, Aunt Madeleine and cousin Maya: another busy day with only a sleeping picture. Today we split up with some of us going on a bike ride and others going to an art museum. This picture reminds me that recently Alexander woke up and told me about his dream - he had been to visit Moomin and had met Sniff (a moomin character).

Day 1076

Today we left Alexander at home with Lasse because he was acting a bit sick, not eating well and rather cranky. He was disappointed when we left but I don't think he would have coped with the long day we had exploring Old Town and going to the National Museum. Isaac had his last day of work at his summer job at the 4H farm.

Day 1074

Participating in tourist activities. Mommy, Madeleine, Maya, and Emma spent the morning at the Art museum and Alexander and Lasse met us for a picnic lunch. Later we wandered around Stockholm on a quest for among other things, 2nd hand stores and Swedish pastry shops. Ate some ice cream too. Alexander pushing buttons on flashlights.

Day 1073

Happy Birthday, Madeleine! Our guests were very tired from jet lag, but we did get out and about for some adventures in town (in the morning) and a walk and ice cream in the afternoon (which Lasse missed because he was at another b-day party)!

Day 1072

Alexander and I went to pick up Madeleine and Maya at the airport! I was going to go by myself, but Alexander has been so pleasant to travel with, even for hour long journeys, and he really wanted to go. So we took a bus, a train, another bus (to the airport) and the Arlanda Express/subway home. With Maya on the fast train.

Day 1071

Lasse and Alexander spent the day in the country which they both enjoyed immensely.

Day 1070

No picture of Alexander, but a picture Lasse wearing new green pants. Alexander was wearing his purple pants and I was wearing sky blue pants; we were all very colorful today.

Playing with Brio train, getting down on the floor to and talking with the little Brio people, about what they are planning to do (buy bananas, go in the elevator).

The days go by very fast and we hardly get anything done more than everything that has to be done over and over such as buying food, cooking food, eating food, cleaning up after the food, laundry, etc. Alexander has been taking short naps late in the day which means he has been staying up until 10 or 11 pm.

Day 1066

Alexander out in the country house - might not be from the 10th, but Lasse sent it to me on the 11th :-) He is pretending to have a restaurant and is serving pancakes.

Day 1065

Alexander spent the night out in the country with me last night, and spent the day there with Daddy (I came home) and when Alexander came home he got out all of his fire trucks and lined them up on the coffee table and then asked to play the fire fighter game on the iPad.

Day 1064

Built and played with a Duplo house. Uncle Carlos called this morning using FaceTime which Alexander thought was pretty interesting; he named this Duplo figure Carlos. Later, Alexander took a walk with his grandparents while we went to another appointment in town.

Day 1063

I did some DayQuil and headed off to our favorite grocery store in town (Daglivs) with Lasse and Alexander. Lasse took Alexander to the park, but he didn't want to be there, so they joined me in the store. Isaac also came to the store, to help us haul things back. We took the subway home and Alexander said most of the names of the subway stops.

Day 1062

I have Alexander's cold and am frustrated about how the summer days are flying by and we are, for various reasons, not getting much done (not only practical things but fun outings like going to feed ducks). Lasse took Isaac and Alexander to visit their grandparents and Isaac drove his RC car which he recently fixed.
