Day 1148

While Lasse and Emma went to the Aquarium and Isaac studied for a math test Alexander and I went to the open house at the fire station. Alexander looked around, climbed up in the fire truck and was done. So we went to the movies, one for 2-5 year olds that was 30 minutes long. We ate popcorn. He wanted to keep his hat and jacket on. He wanted to sit in my lap. We went into the theater a bit early and nothing was happening and he said that he wanted to go home. But eventually it started and we were entertained.

Day 1147

Lasse and I had a day/night out! Alexander had a great time with his grandparents and didn't think much of the idea of going to sleep. He finally conked out on the couch, and when they tried to move him to our bed he woke up and ran back to the couch saying that the couch WAS his bed.

Day 1146

Isaac and I went on a quest to pick up the computer that he bought with his summer job money. We had to wait for a bus for 30 minutes in a town with one of my favorite 2nd hand stores. I went in and found a pair of Alexander's shoes which we purchased there and later donated there. They were in better shape when I bought them, but still OK. Maybe someone will buy them.

Stretching to ring the doorbell. Squinting his eyes, which apparently is what you should do when you say, "SPINDELMANNEN"! (Spiderman). Alexander was very happy that Emma found this Spiderman shirt for him.

Day 1141

I spent the day writing a paper for school and Lasse took care of the children. Emma's new glasses came so they went to the opticians. Alexander tried on Hello Kitty glasses and Lasse sent me this picture.

Day 1140

Emma and I went to a children's used clothes/toys sale; here we are waiting in line with about 200 other people (mostly moms). Managed to avoid buying more toys. Emma has a really good eye for detail and is good at finding things for Alexander. We left Alexander with Lasse though, and it was another sleeping boy picture day.

Day 1139

Toys, toys, toys. I put away a box of baby toys and Alexander found them and pulled them out, along with Lego and some other things.

Doing errands with Daddy at the mall; on the way to buy groceries.

When I try to make the bed, Alexander wants to play with pillows, constructing a train, which I am supposed to also ride in.

Riding tricycle in an interesting way. Expressing his desire to stay out longer. Home with Emma.

Alexander on his way home from a birthday party. During the party he stayed very close to me and mostly observed everything so when we left he was full of energy and needed to run around and climb and slide a bit before going home.

Alexander heard Emma talking about her old Barbie dolls (which were in a box) and he got very excited and asked if we could get them down. Here he is admiring everything.

Neatly parked cars on one side and firetrucks on the other side and then spun around on the floor.

I came home late, was at the parent's information night at Isaac's high school and I never took a picture.

It took forever to get home today, but that was OK since we still have nice weather. We stopped and fixed Alexander's tricycle with some grass.

Day 1128

Still enjoys playing peek a boo in the mirror after his bath. He says to Lasse, "I am your little baby" and laughs.

Day 1127

Alexander likes to play that we are going to buy groceries and then we bring the groceries home and unpack them and cook something. When we are not playing this game, we are often actually doing it in real life.

Day 1126

A very pregnant friend came over and took Alexander's crib away today. Later Lasse, Alexander and I went for a walk around Kista and experienced the simple pleasure of watching Alexander enjoy climbing, running, jumping, picking up leaves, etc. He also tried to step on our shadows (he no longer tries to escape his own). After our walk we went to the always crowded Kista mall/human zoo where we did a little grocery shopping.

Day 1125

Waiting to have his three year old check up. The nurse asked him questions and he gave inappropriate answers for example: "what do you drink out of"? and he pointed to a picture of a ball. What can you eat (apple) and he pointed to a pencil. He was also completely silent for the first several minutes but eventually warmed up to her and started chattering away and proved that he could distinguish between apples, balls, pencils etc. Later, being fierce in the bath.

Day 1124

The week is going by fast. Alexander has started squinting his eyes shut and saying, "Spiderman"!

Pretending that the kitchen cupboards are trains.

Playing with baby dolls is a favorite activity nowadays. Here Alexander was giving his baby breakfast and then taking him to daycare.

Emma joined Lasse and Alexander on the way home from daycare :-)

Day 1120

Alexander spent the day at his grandparents while Mommy and Daddy had fun taking things to the recycling center and second sand store and going to IKEA. Then we had dinner with grandparents :-) and went home. Alexander was too tired to stay awake and fell asleep on the train.

Long day, the last part, spent with cousin Hanna was very fun.
