Day 1329

We are borrowing Farmor and Farfar's car for the weekend and we did a heavy food shopping trip at City Gross. Great success! We started the adventure with lunch and then we split up - Emma went and looked at clothes, Lasse and Alexander went to the children's play area, and I went grocery shopping. Isaac stayed home and had a nice sleep in. Emma is working on a project for art class and is going to use this necklace to make monkeys and so we took a picture of it before taking it apart. Before bed we left a snack out for the Easter Bunny.

Day 1328

We dyed Easter eggs in the morning and went to eat Easter dinner with relatives in the afternoon/evening.

Day 1327

Thursday
Drawing before going to daycare. He drew a picture of me and then erased me bit by bit and he thought it was very funny. Isaac was also up early! After daycare Alexander helped me put out some Easter decorations.

Wednesday
Back to daycare! Had a good time all day and was outside when Lasse picked him up.

Day 1325

Tuesday
Alexander was home with me in the morning and with Lasse in the afternoon. He felt much better and spent much of the day drawing pictures then cutting up paper. Today was the first time I have seen Alexander draw a person.

Day 1324

Alexander awoke with a fever again! We took him to the doctor where they told us what we already knew, that he had a virus. We had a calm day. In the bath he talked about the animals he was bathing with, including an octopus,and his face was very expressive.

Alexander was outside for the first time in several days, digging in the snow for a little while.

Day 1322

Saturday
Emma and I went to a children's sale today. Emma likes to help find things for Alexander, as well as for herself, and we came home with a Hello Kitty tea set as well as a couple of puzzles, books, and some clothes. Serving Mommy tea with milk.

Friday
Alexander was home with Lasse and felt pretty good today, didn't want to take a nap and ate well. Friday afternoon - both Emma and Alexander like to occupy this space in the kitchen.

Day 1320

Still sick, fever and rash and headache. Alexander was home with Mommy again, as on other days he felt better in the afternoon. Pictures of getting lifted up high, a happy expression, and playing with blocks (building a house for pigs).

Day 1319

Still sick, home with Mommy today. Took a long nap, which gave him enough energy to play in the afternoon.

Day 1318

Still sick. Spent the morning with Farfar and was ready to sleep when Mommy arrived after lunch.

Sick today, Farmor and Farfar came and spent the day with Alexander, no picture.

Day 1316

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Alexander is still sick today, with a fever and a rash. He WANTS to be healthy though and perks up now and then. I've always given the children something green for St. Patrick's day, often clothes, and we try to do something green with the food, such as dye the milk green. Emma loves these little celebrations and Alexander was very intrigued with the idea of wearing green and was happy to put on his new green pants and shirt.

Still sick, with a fever and a rash on his face, Alexander finds a bit of energy to climb on the sofa.

Day 1314

Alexander didn't feel well when Lasse picked him up from daycare and he went to sleep at 6 pm.

Day 1313

We have a morning routine of opening the window blinds together; Alexander helps me pull the strings and watches his shadow appear, and moves so that his shadow disappears. Today there was a person scraping ice off of his car. When it is cold outside the heaters inside work well.

I got home late and didn't take a picture.

It was minus 12 Celsius this morning (=10 degrees F), brr. Alexander was out playing in the ice cold sandbox for a short time today.

Day 1308

Saturday
Alexander eating a big apple. He is showing an interest in math. He does a lot of counting and wants us to say how many fingers he is holding up. He says things like, "We are five people in our family, but only three people are awake. Two people are sleeping". It was fun watching him eat this apple; he looked at it, rotated it, and took a new bite and looked at it again.

Friday
Alexander's hair is growing back! He asked me to put on a hair clip while he ate one of his favorite foods - oatmeal with applesauce and cinnamon.
Alexander has found one of Emma's Barbie dolls - if you push a button on her back she sings a catchy song.
