Merry Christmas! Had a nice relaxing day. Started the day by putting together a Playmobil firetruck. All three kids sitting on the couch. Alexander playing with the Moomin house! Emma, in classic child style, had the most fun with the packaging, styling a dollhouse out of a cardboard box.

Day 1233

We celebrated Swedish Christmas Eve at Aunt and Uncle's house. Lots of nice people, good food, and Santa Claus came after dinner. With Emma in the car, waiting with Isaac and Alva, playing with his ambulance.

Hmm, not finding a picture. We were pretty busy though.

Day 1231

Went to the mall with a big grocery store and did some shopping. We were not alone, but it wasn't too crazy since we were there pretty early. Alexander was impressed by these lit up figures. At home, Emma modeled a tee-shirt she drew a couple of days ago.

Alexander enjoys pretend play quite a bit; setting up a tea party with the the fairies who live in this house. He is getting excited about Christmas and wanted to stay in his (Santa) pajamas today. He likes to follow us around and present us with gifts and say, "Merry Christmas".

Lasse had vacation days he needed to take out before the end of the year, and today was one of them, fortunate since he is sick/exhausted from yesterday. Alexander is still healthy and had another fun day playing in the snow at daycare. Came home and played with a classic toy, barrel of monkeys.

Day 1227

Ditto from the last two days. Lasse flew to Umeå this morning, leaving at 6:40 am. The taxi driver who took him to the airport lives in our building! He came home around 11pm, after a long day. There was a sign at daycare yesterday that the stomach flu is going around, but so far Alexander seems fine. He didn't want dinner tonight, and I didn't push him in case he is getting sick. He had "banana money" with milk.

I cannot find any pictures for this day. Both Lasse and I are having many senior moments these days and the days are just a blur. We are grateful for everyday that we are healthy.

Day 1224

Happy Birthday, Emma! 15 on the 15th! We served her breakfast in bed and she opened her presents, including a Sylvanian family of cows. Alexander wanted to know how old Emma was but couldn't quite wrap his head around the number 15. He kept repeating, "Alexander is three"!

On the way home from daycare, not quite getting his helmet over his hat. The snow has provided great entertainment for all the daycare children who have a small hill they slide down morning and afternoon most days.

Alexander dressed up as a Santa Elf at daycare and sang songs for St. Lucia's Day.

Now that the temperature outside has dropped the heaters are working. I'm still wearing a couple of layers inside but Alexander is usually warm. He wanted to show me how wide he can open his mouth.

We celebrated Emma's birthday today with a party with relatives and treats. I am going to put more pictures of that up on my other not very often updated blog soon.

Day 1217

Alexander enjoys taking care of his baby doll. Baby needed a new outfit before going on an outing to the grocery store (in the living room) because it was cold outside.

Picked Alexander up at daycare and he showed me their fall art project which involved gathering sticks and pine cones in the woods, bringing them back to the daycare, and painting them.

Alexander helped me put wet clothes into the dryer.

There was a big snowstorm today! I was lucky to catch one of the last buses (after waiting for 30 mintues) going to the hospital. Eventually all bus traffic stopped and both Lasse and I ended up having nice long walks in the snow in order to get to the subway (which was running fine). Lasse picked Alexander up, and he was very proud to show off his artwork, including two boats.

Sleeping again. I finished up a challenging class today, have a new one starting tomorrow and lots of reading and writing to do before the 21st - coinciding with the holidays and Emma's birthday. Thankfully Alexander has fully recovered from his cold and we are all healthy!

First advent. Alexander opening his advent calender with Lasse. Emma came up with the idea of having a Star Wars theme; the candles are different light sabers.

Alexander rolled around on the floor, playing with a bulldozer for a long time this morning.

It snowed! Hard to tell from this picture, but Alexander was delighted to be taken to daycare on Isaac's old sled.

I've been very busy with class assignments and have come home so late a couple of times that Alexander is already asleep!

First day back to daycare. Alexander had fun, they went and saw a children's theater performance. He was very tired when I picked him up. Lasse and I were also very tired. The way things are going I won't be surprised if there are a lot of Alexander sleeping pictures this month!

Playing with play-doh was nice, but stacking the containers with Emma was even more fun.

Typical scene on public transportation, not just our family, but everyone is very plugged in to their telephones! We were on the train riding home from friends. It was Saturday night and there were drunk people screaming for half of the ride, but Alexander slept through it all.

Stayed home from daycare today, and alternated between sad and happy.

I'm getting tired of this theme! Alexander is still sick. I'm still not completely recovered myself, so it doesn't surprise me that he is still having fever and headache. He has a cough now too.

Alexander is still sick, and took a nap in the morning. Daddy was home with him in the morning, and Farmor in the afternoon.

Felt a bit better in the afternoon. Lasse and I managed to get some small projects done at home this weekend. Later, feeling feverish again, Alexander rested on Daddy.
